HOW MANY CLASSES DO I NEED TO HAVE TO RUN THE COURSE?
You have a choice. A complete schedule would allow the UBC student to train in 45 minute classes, 6 days a week. You would have fitness kickboxing three days a week, alternating with strength and conditioning classes three days a week.
You also have the option of using the Kickbox Conditioning class. This is a class that combines the kickboxing with the strength and conditioning. It’s an hour long instead of 45 minutes but you only have to have 3 Kickbox Conditioning classes per week instead of six. Both have been proven to get great results.
HOW DO I GET MY STAFF TRAINED TO RUN THE UBC?
You have a couple of options. You can have Jim Graden, the creator of the course, come to your facility to train your staff. Jim does a very thorough job of making sure everyone is on the same page and understands all aspects of the UBC.
This is highly recommended for all new centers, but is not required.
The other option is to get your instructors certified to teach the classes with our home study certification kits. A complete certification for one instructor comes with your start up kit. Additional kits can be ordered as needed.
DO I HAVE TO RUN A CONTEST? ARE TEAM CHALLENGES REQUIRED?
Yes and no. First, UBC National gives away a Caribbean cruise at least four times a year at no cost to you. So why wouldn’t you want to promote the fact that someone can win a cruise vacation in your program.
The team challenges are designed to add more excitement and accountability so the students are more likely to stay with the program. The camaraderie and excitement of the team challenges are one of the key elements that keep the clients motivated and involved.
You have a variety of team challenges to choose from, including recipe parties and walk/runs, but the only contest that is required is the team that has the most finish the course. So, if a student decides to quit, not only are they letting themselves down, but also their team (and they need to feel that).
CAN I RUN THE UBC WITHOUT COACHES?
In the beginning, you or your staff members have to fulfill the coaching requirements because it’s an important element of the course. Coaches are easy to come by and we’ll show you how to recruit them and train them so in a short period of time they can practically running the course for you.
DOES EACH TEAM HAVE TO TRAIN AT THE SAME TIME?
No. You’ll find the team concept only comes into play with the team challenges and the fitness evaluations. The team concept also allows you to break your student body up into groups and assign them to coaches. Instead of a coach being responsible for everyone in the program, they are only responsible for their team members.
WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO FINISH THE COURSE?
A good completion rate is 80% with a retention rate of 80% of the finishers.
CAN I USE ALL OF YOUR PROMOTIONAL INFO, i.e. TESTIMONIES, BEFORE & AFTER PHOTO’S, ARTICLES, ETC. ON MY SITE?
YES, your licensing fee covers that.
HOW DO YOU SUGGEST I INCORPORATE THE UBC NATIONAL SITE INTO MY WEBSITE AND ADVERTSING?
You can link to our site so your students or prospective students can get more detailed info as well as access to their Member’s Club pages. That way you don’t have to reinvent what we’ve already created. Your site and the UBC site work together to give your students the maximum information and support they need to have success.
